The Japanese art of marbling is 墨流し meaning “floating ink” & it is one of the most freeing art forms I’ve ever experienced. Ink drifts across water. You guide it, but you don’t control it. Each piece is unrepeatable, imperfect & free-flowing. No overthinking, forcing, just pure freedom, patience & trust. It celebrates flow over control.
What I love most about marbling is how much it feels like life & creativity. You show up, let go of expectations & trust the process. Some days the art is loud & bold. Other days, calm & quiet. Fun, effortless & simple.
